Joan Carney
Vice President, Hebrew Health Care and Executive Director, Hoffman SummerWood Community

As Executive Director, Joan Carney is responsible for the administration and operation of all programs at SummerWood, from strategic planning through implementation. She brings a unique combination of clinical and administrative skills to her role as Executive Director.
Ms. Carney has been with Hebrew Health Care since 1995. Prior to becoming Executive Director at SummerWood, she was director of Hebrew Home and Rehabilitation Center's Home Health Care program (now part of Hebrew Community Services). Ms. Carney also worked for various Visiting Nurse Associations, for 12 years, 7 of them in a supervisory or management capacity.
Ms. Carney began her career as a registered nurse, after receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, MA.
Christine Winters
Director of Community Relations

Christine Winters is the Director of Community Relations at Hoffman SummerWood Community and is responsible for the marketing needs of the community. Prior to entering the senior retirement field more than six years ago, Christine has been involved in the real estate industry in Connecticut, and has a strong background in financial services and operations.
Randolph Scott
Executive Chef, SummerWood at University Park
Randolph Scott, better known in the SummerWood kitchen and dining room as “Chef Scotty,” has been a chef for over 20 years. Scotty has opened several fine restaurants in the US, Europe, and the West Indies, has served in various executive dining positions in resort hotels throughout the Caribbean, and has experience providing private catering services.
Scotty’s broad experience has taught him a variety of techniques for meeting the demanding tastes of diners in a resort environment. These techniques have been smoothly incorporated into the process of developing a gourmet Kosher kitchen at SummerWood featuring a broad range of selections for members and their guests. Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented dishes are Scotty’s signature at SummerWood.
